INFRASTRUCTURE > THE OUT PATIENT CONSULTATION SUITS

The Out Patient Consultation Suits:

Are located near a large cardiology reception lounge, where preliminary counseling and patient registrations are done . And as part of patient education programme, the lounge is interspersed with wall mounted pictures on Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology well supported by information on diagnostic methods and treatment modalities in current use. About 1500 patients are seen every month.

INFRASTRUCTURE >THE ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY LABORATORIES

The Electrocardiography Laboratories:

Deals with Surface ECG’s, Stress ECG’s, 24 hour Ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring services. Here, routine rest Electrocardio-graphy is taken. Once normal ECG is taken, patients are often sent for Stress ECG. Here a patient is requested to walk on an automated platform, where the speed of person and the level of inclination may vary automatically as the person walks on the platform. Throughout this period of tolerated exercise, the patient’s blood pressure and pulse is carefully monitored by the attached machine which exhibits ECG continuously and shows blood pressure of the patient at each stage. At the end of each stage of exercise a tracings of ECG and various other data are recorded on thermal paper. Computerised ECG machines are used to avoid technically poor tracings. These machines are routinely standardized and serviced to maintain accuracy and speed.

The lab is also well equipped with oxygen, defibrillators and necessary resuscitative equipment to handle any emergency.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY LABORATORIES

The Echocardiography Laboratories:

Comprises of trans-thoracic, trans-oesophagial, echo doppler, color doppler, vascular doppler systems and three dimensional imaging systems. Here, routine Echocardiograms are taken. In this test, imaging of heart and various blood vessels are taken to find out the exact defect and nature of the problem. It takes a minimum of 15 minutes to complete an echocardiography on a patient. In cases where routine method does not yield good images, transoesophageal method is used. Here, a probe which has tiny transducers is inserted into the food pipe, this emits back excellent pictures of the heart.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE NUCLEAR IMAGING LABORATORIES

The Nuclear Imaging Laboratories:

           R
est and stress thallium studies and MUGA tests are conducted here. This state of the art technology test is used to study the efficiency of the heart and efficiency of blood supply to the heart muscle. Even lung blood vessel status can be studied through this test. It is a painless and a non-invasive diagnostic test which yields very important information on blood supply to the heart segmentally.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE CARDIAC LABORATORIES

The  Cardiac  Catheterization  & Electrophysiology Laboratories:

Here, coronary angiograms, intra vascular ultrasound, angioplasties, stents, deployment of intra-cardiac umbrella devices, diagnostic ep-studies, radio frequency ablations and pacemaker-cardioverter- defibrillator implants are carried out with biplane units. To conduct these test, the imaging system, pressure monitoring and recording system, the ECG monitoring and recording system are used. In addition, the lab has facilities to digitize the images and record in a CD or hard disk for storage of the images.

The lab is well equipped to manage any emergencies.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE CARDIO THORACIC THEATRES

The Cardio Thoracic Theaters:

Armed with the state of the art technology, where a vast spectrum of complex cardiac repairs and coronary revascularizations are carried out. The entire walls of the Theatres are steel plated and sealed with hermetic sealing. Laminar flow air conditioning is used to provide the apt temperature and infection free atmosphere.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE INTENSIVE CARDIAC CARE UNITS

The Intensive Cardiac Care Units:

A comprehensive intensive cardiac care unit contains more than 32 intensive care beds serves both cardiac surgeries and non- surgical patients. Each bed is equipped with ECG, oxygen saturation recording facilities including automatic blood pressure systems.

INFRASTRUCTURE > THE INPATIENT FACILITIES

The Inpatient Facilities:

Quality health care is provided to a broad spectrum of economic classes. About 400 patients are admitted each month.. The same care and treatment is given to all patients. Each floor is closely monitored by a floor supervisor and senior nursing staff to provide comprehensive quality care.

INFRASTRUCTURE >
CARDIAC REHABILITATION UNITS

Cardiac Rehabilitation Units:

Here, physiotherapists, clinical nutritionists, psychologists & cardiologists work together to bring the patient back to his/ or her routine as promptly as possible. Since patients and their relatives are emotionally affected at such a time they need counseling at each stage of treatment to help bring back their confidence and trust. The opportunity of being able to freely converse with the various technical staff assures them of their health and the treatment rendered and helps in the speedy recovery of the patient.
